Typhoon Soulik expected to hit Korean Peninsula

Typhoon Soulik is approaching the Korean Peninsula. The strong, medium-sized typhoon is expected
to pass across the peninsula between Wednesday and Friday. Our Han Soo-ah has more details. The 19th typhoon of the season is on course
to hit the Korean Peninsula. It will be the first typhoon in six years
to directly pass across the peninsula. The whole country is under the direct influence
of the typhoon, and heavy rains, large waves, and strong winds are expected. According to the Korea Meteorological Administration,
the typhoon, which formed near Guam in the middle of last week, is approaching Jeju Island. It will bring heavy rains and strong winds
to Jeju Island tomorrow night, and will move up toward Mokpo on Thursday morning. The entire nation will be soaked by rain on
Thursday and Friday. From Wednesday to Thursday, Jeju Island is
forecast to get more that 50 millimeters of rain per hour. Some other areas will receive more than 400
millimeters of rainfall in total. As the wind speed is projected to be almost
89 miles per hour, Soulik may cause as much damage as Typhoon Sanba which directly hit
the country in 2012, leaving two dead and two injured and flooding hundreds of homes
and buildings. Prime Minister Lee Nak-yeon at a cabinet meeting
this morning urged related authorities and ministries to prepare for the damage, including
human casualties. The Prime Minister emphasized the safety of
students who are going back to school after vacation. He was also concerned about farmers who have
already suffered from the recent heatwave and could see more damage from the typhoon. However depending on the atmospheric conditions
in the North Pacific, there is also a possibility of the typhoon heading out into the West Sea
and bypassing the Korean Peninsula. Han Soo-ah, Arirang News.

What a terrible place to live. Extreme summer heatwaves, freezing winters, typhoons, air pollution. Over populated. Country smells like a rotten sewer. List goes on.

looks like a US haarp weapon being used on kim jung un to disturb his evening wank.

    Typhoon Soulik.
Jeju is reported right now to be being affected by a serious looking typhoon. Sustained wind speeds of 22 to 50mph coastal regions at low altitudes.  42 to 67mph at 100 meters above sea level.  53 to 82 mph at 250 meters altitudes. 46 to 84 mph at 500 meters altitudes.  69 to 86 mph at 750 meters altitudes.  73 to 88mph at 1000 meters altitudes.  87 to 101mph at 1500 meters altitudes.  Winds gusting to 150mph on higher ground above 500meters.  Some 150mph gusting winds along the northern coast including Jeju.  120mph along the southern coasts including Seogwipo.  992hPA.  Some sea waves at 9.2 meters.  Plenty rain 5 to 11 mm per hour increasing.  The typhoon is not yet fully upon Jeju Island so reports report the winds are predicted to increase significantly with gusts peaking at 197mph at 17:00hrs today (GMT BST UTC) (Jeju time = UTC + 9).Winds are reported to peak gust in Seogwipo at 17:00hrs GMT at 144mph.  159mph in Jeju at 17:00hrs GMT, today.Wind gusts are reported by prediction to exceed 100mph until 5AM tomorrow when the Typhoon is reported to be moving away.  So there looks like another 17 hours of storm/Typhoon conditions.I have no visual reports as I report from more than 5,000 miles west from reports shown via satellite.  So it could be a sunny day except for the reports. So it would be interesting to read some comments from Jeju to confirm or to reject.  But the reports suggest a lot of potential devastation so therefor I have report.  People on the mountain need to consider getting to a safe place as the winds are reported to increase to nearly 200mph gusts.  150mph can blow houses away.  So 200mph seems extremely dangerous.  Good Luck.Posted at 12:30PM Wednesday 22nd 2018 GMT BST UTC. (Jeju time = UTC + 9).
